Problems backing boat.

I have an Xpress, H20. While backing boat, the front end wants to turn, will not go straight. I do have a Talon and was wondering if the Talon creates drag on that side to affect backing straight. Just wondering if anyone else has similar issues?

I don’t have any experience with a talon but, unless it sticks below the bottom of the boat, I wouldn’t think it would matter. But then again, if it stuck below the bottom, that would cause other issues anyway.

I do notice that I have sorta that same issue when backing my flat boat. I usually have to turn the motor somewhat to correct it.

Only thing I can think of is maybe the talon is affecting the prop wash thus causing the problem. Anything that drags in the water has an affect. That is why you have an adjustable trim tab on the lower unit to counter the torque.
A bad day fishing is better than good day at work!
