This is the first step. It passed the committee with the three amendments by a 5-3 vote. Need to call your state reps and ask for support of HB391. It was very interesting to watch this go down live. There is still a lot of work and education needed to those that can help get this passed.

Good point. Definitely not over yet. Still doesn’t stop me from being as happy as a pig in crap!!!

It was interesting to watch. Wish I could have made the trip but as always, work comes first. Sometimes it’s just not possible.

Awesome job by all who spoke in favor. A big thank you from me and the other sportsmen who are in favor of the bill.

And a big thank you to Rep. Pearson for introducing the bill!! For too long there have been other politicians that wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. A true person for the people!

Yup, I had planned on being there but have been having health problems. I was not able to go but watched part of it online.

I have added a link to the first post of this topic for the archived video of the hearing for those that missed it.

I also sent out the following email to Rep. Pearson and the five who voted in favor of the bill.

Quote
Mr. Pearson,

I wanted to thank you for introducing HB 391. For way too long it felt like nobody wanted to listen to us sportsmen. Your dedication to the sportsmen and women of our great state have brought us over a big hill and on our way to victory.

For all the reps that voted yes today, I wanted to thank you all for your support of HB 391. I know it’s a first step but at least you all helped get it off the ground.

Hopefully I didn’t leave anyone out. If so, please let them know that all of us that have a love for our great outdoors really appreciate their support.

We are on our way to keeping Louisiana the Sportsman’s Paradise!
