HB 391 - Continue making calls

As you probably already know, House Bill 391, introduced by Rep. Pearson has passed through the committee by a vote of 5-3. It is now heading to the house floor. While we all may want to start celebrating, not so fast.

The opposition is trying to have the bill amended on the floor to apply only to those waters that are currently dual owned. There has been a call by the Louisiana Sportsmens' Coalition to continue contacting our State Representatives. As Brandon Strickland has put it, the opposed are just plain greedy.

I watched the video and I have to say that I'm really having a hard time keeping a nice tone as I type. Anyone who knows me, knows how I am when it comes to this topic. It sets me off easy. I try to keep a friendly tone on here due to our wide range of audiences, but Senator Bret Allain really pissed me off with what he said about gating all of "his" canals. That's living evidence of one greedy person. Besides having his own land, I'm sure he has his hands pretty deep in the pockets of other land owners. Not to mention all of the ass kissing he probably does with Troy Landry and no telling what other land owners.

It's all gone on too long. For way too many years I've watched it happen here in Westwego and down in Lafitte. Little by little, we have been losing access to precious fishing waters. It's time it stops and it's up to us to let the elected officials know where we stand. Letting our voices be heard on election day is not enough. We have to blow up their phones and email accounts.

Use the link below to find the email addresses or use the numbers listed to call and let your voice be heard.
